摘要
Biopolymers are the best alternative to petroleum-based products and chemicals. Biopolymers are the nature-derived component and have been recognized as a favorable material with diverse applications. Most of the biopolymers are derived from plants, animals, and microorganisms. Several polymerization techniques and conjugation methods have been investigated to develop advance functional nanomaterials. Currently, biopolymer-based advance functional nanomaterials have drawn great attention, owing to their biocompatibility, biodegradability with good physicochemical, mechanical properties, and abundance in nature making them a promising candidate for various applications. In this chapter, we have comprehensively discussed the structures, classification, production techniques, properties, advance functional nanomaterials, and applications of biopolymers. The advanced functional nanomaterials of biopolymer are excellent candidates for various applications because of superior properties. We have comprehensively discussed the applications of advanced functional nanomaterials for biopolymers such as drug delivery, tissue engineering, implants for long-term treatment, food technology, sensors, textile, and energy. We concluded with the future prospects on biopolymers that need to be explored.
