Optimization methods in Environmental-Economic Dispatch problems: a hybrid analysis in the literature

Abstract Companies have sought better alignment among the organization's strategic objectives, technology management, and sustainability management using process optimization strategies. This paper presents a hybrid approach that combines bibliometric and content analysis on optimizations in Environmental-Economic Dispatch (EED) problems. This work analyzes the main contributions and trends for that topic, as well as identifies future work directions. A sample of three hundred and thirty articles (330) was considered, which enabled the identification of routes, the countries with the most activity in this topic, the authors with the highest number of publications, the most cited works, the main journals that published in this subject, presentation of co-citation networks by authors and co-authorship between countries, and the characterization of the numerous optimization models that involve conflicting objectives. It is important to notice that from the content analysis it was possible to identify the state of expansion of the main evolutionary algorithms on the area studied in the world.
