摘要
Plant oxylipins are products of unsaturated fatty acid oxidation known for their diverse role in developmental and defensive functions. The incipient oxygenation of substrate fatty acids is primarily catalyzed by lipoxygenases (LOXs) and α-dioxygenases yet can occur non-enzymatically via autoxidation or singlet oxygen-subordinate responses. The subsequent results further create a variety of mixtures like jasmonic acid (JA). There are several enzymes that contribute to the biosynthesis of oxylipins in plants. Two major forms of oxylipins exist, which include the esterified or free oxylipin, and the non-esterified oxylipins. However, the most studied oxylipin is the esterified oxylipins. Oxylipins can be said to be cosmopolitan plant metabolites because they can be isolated and found in numerous kinds of plants. Although, the exact functions of oxylipins in plants have not been fully understood, they have a significant impact on plant defense and growth.
