In hereditary angioedema (HAE), swelling attacks are caused by excessive bradykinin activating the bradykinin B2 receptors. PHA121 is a potent, selective antagonist of bradykinin B2 receptors being investigated for on-demand and prophylactic treatment of HAE attacks.
