Oral Allergy Syndrome Preceding Anaphylaxis is the Most Common Phenotype in 133 Thai Adults with IgE-Mediated Banana Allergy

The clinical characteristics of banana allergy have been mostly studied in children whose symptoms are often only oral allergy syndrome (OAS) without anaphylaxis. However, we have anecdotally observed a higher proportion of anaphylaxis in Thai adults. Thus, we aimed to describe the reaction phenotypes, diagnostic test results, and the value of stepwise food challenges in banana-allergic Thai adults.
