Study on Power Generation and Consumption Strategy of Enterprises with Self-owned Power Plants under Time-of-use Electricity Price Policy

Enterprises with Self-owned Power Plants consume large amounts of electricity and have a certain amount of dispatchable load. This paper proposed a power generation and consumption strategy for this kind of enterprises to minimize electricity costs under the time-of-use electricity price policy. The price relationship between time of day and the response load behaviors is discussed, and a self-generation dispatch and load shifting model is developed. The model is then used to derive the optimal power generation and consumption strategy by the YALMIP/CPLEX optimisation solver in the Matlab platform. In the end of this paper, simulations are carried out to examine the effectiveness of the proposed strategy, and the results indicate that if the enterprises' self-generation costs and load shifting costs are fully considered when formulating the price-based demand response mechanism, the grid can guide the enterprises' electricity generation and consumption decisions through price means, thus achieving a win-win situation for both grid and enterprises.
