The Bellows Designing Method of Divided Working Conditions for Launch Vehicle

Abstract The working environment of the pipeline system of the launch vehicle is very complex. Bellows in piping system should endure high temperature, corrosive medium, vibration and other conditions, which require for high reliability. However, due to the restrictions of fixed location, weight reduce requirement, the number and location of bellows are strictly required. There is a great difference for the bellows design method between the launch vehicle and the ground pipeline. In this paper, a bellows designing method for launch vehicle is introduced in detail. The method calculates the compensation amount of bellows under divided working conditions, and checks the fatigue damage coefficient as the main failure judgement basis. It has been proved by practice that the designing method of divided working conditions can solve the design problems of the bellows of launch vehicles effectively.
