High-power X-band dual-channel transmitting module for shipborne radar

Shipborne radar is an important part of modern maritime combat system. With the improvement of the requirements of the new generation of shipborne radar in low-altitude detection and anti-jamming, multi-function phased array shipborne radar arises at the historic moment. Among them, compared with passive phased array, active multi-function phased array has advantages in detection distance, anti-interference, reliability and so on. The microwave transmitting module, which is an important part of active phased array radar, is the key to its technology. A high-power X-band dual-channel microwave transmitter module for active phased array radar is studied in this paper. The microwave transmitting module is composed of multi-function chip, power amplifier, detection circuit, isolator and so on. It uses gallium arsenide monolithic microwave integrated circuit. This paper focuses on a number of technologies related to microwave emission, including the principle of microwave transmission module, the calculation of microwave transmission circuit, the control mode of microwave amplifier, the thermal design and simulation of the module, the manufacturing process, and the design of three defenses adapted to the marine environment. After the above design and precision manufacturing, a 8.5-10.5GHz dual-channel transmission module with transmission power of CW 10W is realized. It has excellent performance in high-power heat dissipation, so its reliability is very high, especially it can adapt to the harsh environment such as high temperature, high humidity and salt fog at sea.
