Low-altitude Wind-shear Wind Speed Estimation Based on Improved Auxiliary Channel

Due to the amplitude and phase error of array elements, the clutter suppression performance of airborne weather radar is reduced, resulting in the inaccuracy of low-altitude wind-shear wind speed estimation. In this paper, a method of low wind-shear wind speed estimation based on improved auxiliary channels with less calculation is proposed. Firstly, the space-time interpolation method based on the modified steering vector constraint is used to correct the distance dependence of the clutter. Secondly, select the auxiliary channels according to the clutter energy distribution of the bin to be measured to construct an adaptive dimension reduction processor. Then, the adaptive dimension reduction processor is used to filter the radar echo in space-time two-dimensional. Finally, the experimental results show that the proposed method can achieve clutter suppression and get accurate wind speed estimation.
