Synthesis and luminescence properties of borates phosphor

The rare earth activated borate based was prepared by different synthesis methods. The phosphor was characterized by photoluminescence spectrophotometer for excitation and emission spectra. The phosphors Ca3B2O6:Dy3+, Ca3B2O6:Eu3+, and Ca3B2O6:Sm3+ were prepared by a combustion method. Entire phosphors were characterized for X-ray diffraction and photoluminescence. The detailed investigation on photoluminescence properties of SrB2O4:Eu3+, Ba2LiB5O10:Dy3+, YCa4O(BO3)3:Tb3+, Ba2Mg(BO3)2:Eu2+ and Ba2Mg(BO3)2:Ce3+, Na+, Eu2MoB2O9, MSr4(BO3)3:Ce3+ (M = Li and Na), Gd2MoB2O9:Sm3+, NaBaBO3:Dy3+, K+, Ca2BO3Cl: Eu2+, Ln3+ (Ln = Nd, Dy, Er) and Ba2LiB5O10: Eu2+ phosphors is revealed in this chapter. The X- ray diffraction (XRD) for entire phosphors are well matched with the standard Joint Committee on Powder Diffraction Standards (JCPDS). All the phosphor schemes revealed characteristic emission. Concentration quenching effect was observed in entire phosphors system. Photoluminescence results suggest that phosphor could be used as ecofriendly solid-state lighting applications.
