Mustafa, who served as an author on several clinical guidelines that were published between April 2019 and January 2022 (1–8). Dr. Mustafa has served as a site principal investigator for a randomized controlled trial funded by Boehringer Ingelheim and subcontracted through Duke University since 2019. The CGC considers any active relationship with drug companies a high-level conflict of interest, regardless of whether the interest is clinically relevant to the guideline topic. The CGC policy is to not include individuals with potential conflicts of interest as guideline authors. Dr. Mustafa has updated her disclosure form to include this information.
