The effect of double scans and elliptical beam during sintering of silver nanoparticle structures via a modulated laser beam

•We examined the effect of modulated elliptical beam on the characteristics of printed ag lines.•We calculated that the elliptical laser beam is 37% more power efficient as compared to the circular laser beam via numerical simulation.•The efficiency of the elliptical beam was confirmed by the experimental results, and lower electrical resistivity by half was obtained as compared to oven sintering results.
