Accessibility in the Metaverse: Are We Prepared?

Metaverse is a new paradigm and is under construction where social, immersive Virtual Reality platforms will be compatible with several kinds of applications. However, solutions must be developed to ensure that people with disabilities access the Metaverse. This work aims to present an overview of research on accessibility of immersive systems and outline challenges and opportunities so that the Human-Computer Interaction community can reflect and intensify research in this area.
