Artificial Intelligence for Parkinson's Disease Diagnosis: A Review

This chapter presents a systematic review of the literature based on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) that serves to identify parkinson's disease (PD) that have been recently published to diagnose PD from the medical and technical database. Identifying PD from several other neurological illnesses can be challenging, and it is entirely dependent on the skill of the radiologist. Many studies have been conducted on the use of machine learning and speech pattern recognition in PD patients. Patients with PD can suffer from speech impairment or vocal cord issues. Therefore, the assessment of the voice and speech has received a lot of attention as a way to detect and measure the severity of PD symptoms. As a result, utilizing integrated AI methods could be a useful decision tool for early PD diagnosis which will help prevent other changes in a patient's health condition.
