Development and Application of the Xin'anjiang Model based on Grid-Computation Unit Nesting

Distributed models, which can take into account the spatial inhomogeneity of basin subsurface characteristics and rainfall, have become a hot topic of research. However, the emphasis on building large sets of hydrodynamic equations and the pursuit of fine and high-resolution calculation unit may heighten the problems of model scale and parameterization. Based on the latest theory of watershed spatial discretization and Xin'anjiang model, a framework that simulating flood using Xin'anjiang model based on grid-computation unit nesting is proposed, which makes full use of the distributed underlying surface and meteorological data with a relatively simple model structure. The established model is applied to the Qujiang River basin, a tributary of the Jialing River. The results show that the model has high simulation accuracy and efficiency. It has certain popularization and application value.
