摘要
Background: Single incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS) is a relatively new minimal invasive surgical technique for abdominal surgery compared to the multiport laparoscopic surgery. It has shown to have cosmetic advantages and has the potential to reduce postoperative pain and length of hospital stay. However, a drawback of SILS appears to be a higher incisional hernia rate. It is still unclear whether this rate is related to a larger incisional length or location of the incision. The aim of this study was to determine whether right hemicolectomy performed with SILS affected the postoperative incisional hernia rate.
