摘要
If colonised education systems intend to ‘close the gap’ (a political campaign in Australia aimed to achieve equality for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; Gardiner-Garden, 2012), it requires the ‘coming together’ of Aboriginal and Western knowledge systems. Intersections of pedagogy and epistemologies call out for physical education (PE) educators to move away from Eurocentric PE that fails to acknowledge Indigenous perspectives (Williams, 2018) and bridge this knowledge gap (Bishop et al., 2021). However, this can only be achieved through purposeful design finding synergy in ways of learning for engagement in reconciliation, respect, and recognition of continuous living Aboriginal cultures across Australia (Australian Curriculum and Assessment Authority [ACARA], 2020a).
