MRI and FIGO staging of carcinomas of the vulva

Vulvar cancer is a rare gynaecological cancer that occurs preferentially in elderly patients, with a median age at diagnosis of 77 years in France. It is more than 90% of cases a squamous cell carcinoma. This article provides an update of the vulvar anatomy in MRI, details the International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics classification of vulvar cancers, recently revised in 2021 and the indications and techniques of the examinations and proposed a standardized report for MRI. ?? 2023 Elsevier Masson SAS.
