摘要
Traffic noise is a detrimental consequence of heavy urbanisation that has a negative effect on the people. The present study focuses on the measurement and mapping of noise levels at various bus stands of Haryana state. The monitored result of the study, including hourly equivalent A-weighted noise levels ( L Aeq), peak noise level ( L 90), and background noise level ( L 10) vary due to traffic characteristics; including traffic volume, vehicle mounted speakers and vehicle horns at bus stand area. The results indicates that the hourly equivalent Noise levels at the various Bus stands were observed to be ranging from 57.6 to 85.0 dB(A). Noise maps were generated independently for varying intervals. The measurement uncertainty of noise data reported in the noise maps generated in the paper is ± 1.5 dB. The study analyses that most of the bus stands witnessed noise level more than 65 dB(A) and recommends taking preventive measures for controlling the Noise levels at various Bus stands.
