Study on large-scale spatial absorption and attenuation characteristics of γ-Fe2O3 particles in different modes

Nanomaterials have a wide range of application scenarios in electromagnetic wave absorption and stealth. In this paper, γ-Fe2O3 NPs (NPs) are taken as an example to study the characteristics of their application in large-scale space. The physical properties of γ-Fe2O3 NPs were characterized, and the wave absorption and attenuation characteristics of γ-Fe2O3 NPs dispersed in large scale space with five different moisture content (0%, 5%, 10%, 20%, 40%) were studied. The results show that the absorption attenuation of γ-Fe2O3 NPs decreases with the decrease of its concentration. The absorption attenuation of γ-Fe2O3 NPs with different water content decreases with the increase of water content. The absorption mechanism of γ-Fe2O3 NPs dispersing in large scale space mainly includes dielectric loss and magnetic loss caused by tunneling effect, interface polarization and multiple scattering.
