•The aim of this study was to examine macular and peripapillary vessel density in ocular hypertension and compare it with healthy subjects.•We found that the decrease in optic disc vascular density and foveal avascular area width was significantly higher in OHT cases.•We think that OCT-A may provide practical and useful results for the early detection of patients at risk of glaucoma progression and may take place in futural routine examinations.
