Nasal Chondrosarcoma: A Separate Entity?
32nd Annual Meeting North American Skull Base SocietyJournal of Neurological Surgery Part B: Skull Base(2023)
摘要
Introduction: Chondrosarcomas (CS) are a bone tumor which originates from chondrocytes. They constitute 5 to 10% of head and neck cancers. Incidence is even lower for skull base CSs which typically originate from petro-clival synchondrosis, but the nasal septum (NS) is also a rare location for CS development with ~65 case reports in the past eight decades. These tumors arise from the bone-cartilage junction of the septum. This paper presents a series of NS chondrosarcomas, reviewing histopathological and radiographical characteristics, surgical strategies, and outcomes.
