摘要
Background: The crista ovale (COv) is a consistent anatomical structure in the middle skull base. It was recently described as a reliable landmark in transorbital endoscopic approaches (TOEA) and previously for transcranial approaches (TCA) to the middle cranial fossa (MCF) in cadaveric specimens. The COv has not been evaluated on imaging of live patients and its morphological variations in populations stratified by age, sex, and race also remain undefined.
