Trends of Pituitary Surgery Medicare Reimbursements

Background: Previous studies have shown decreased Medicare reimbursements for otolaryngology and neurosurgery procedures since 2000.[1] [2] [3] [4] No prior studies have examined such trends in skull base surgery. The purpose of this study is to evaluate Medicare reimbursement trends in open, microscopic, and endoscopic pituitary surgery from 2003–2022.
