Study on Temperature Field Characteristics of 66 kV/10 MVA Offshore Wind Power Dry-Type Transformer

The offshore wind power transformer is an important equipment for transmitting offshore wind energy, which is used to boost the low voltage generated by the wind turbine to a high voltage. Compared with oil-immersed transformer, dry-type transformer has lower fire risk and better explosion-proof performance. Based on the fluid-thermal field coupling method, this paper carries out the temperature field research on the 66 kV/10 MVA offshore wind power dry-type transformer. The temperature rise variation regular and distribution of the transformer are obtained, and it can be seen that the temperature rise rate of each component slows down with time, while the maximum air velocity inside the transformer increases. The hottest spot appears near the top of the low voltage winding with a temperature rise of 94.555 K and a temperature of 387.705 K. The influence of different load factors on the temperature rise of each part of the transformer is analyzed. With the increase of the load factor, the transient temperature rise rate and the steady-state temperature rise of the transformer both increase, and the steady-state hottest spot temperatures of the windings have a quadratic function relationship with the load factor.
