摘要
Congenital venous aneurysms are extremely rare. Compared to thorax, abdomen and extremities, head and neck region is the rarest site for venous aneurysms; moreover, compared to arterial aneurysms, venous aneurysms, as we reported hereby, are very rare, and mostly congenital; but sometimes traumatic or acquired. Cosmesis and vague pain are the concerns of the patients seeking for surgical intervention. Benign natural history of the venous aneurysms in head and neck region are in contrast to extremity or abdominal aneurysms. Thromboembolism and hemor-rhage are never likely complication in venous aneurysms of head and neck region. We conclude that surgical approach and exploration to such aneurysms should be done only when rapid increase in size or cosmetic concern and associated discomfort to the patient warrants intervention. Either conservative or endovascular stenting are other accepted modalities for management of venous aneurysms.
