The present state and future evolution of digitalisation of businesses and marketing is seen to be hinged upon the application of the Internet of Things (IoTs). This treatise concentrates on the digital transformative process of how contemporary business operations are being affected in all its scope. The current patterns in e-Business and e-Commerce are identified followed by the phases of the digitalisation process. In spite of some detrimental developments, there is much scope for positivity due to the beneficial effects on marketing from the application of digitalisation. These beneficial effects being dematerialisation and individualisation in the business management. This is also creating a new relationship between the customer and the supplier. The process of digitalisation is also positively impacting marketing. However, the application of information technology brings with it the danger of system failure and cybercrimes. These are active areas for further research among many new emerging research topics.
