Graphene Photodetector Integrated with Waveguide Bragg Grating

Graphene is a two-dimensional material with excellent photoelectric properties, but the light absorption efficiency is only 2.3 % . Waveguide integration is an effective way to improve the optical absorption rate of graphene, but the waveguide structure is still limited by complex process, low absorption efficiency, large loss and other problems. To solve these problems, a graphene photodetector integrated with waveguide Bragg grating is proposed in this paper. Under the premise of ensuring absorption efficiency and convenient preparation, this structure is used to enhance the optical response of graphene in the $\boldsymbol{1550\text{nm}}$ communication band. In this paper, the parameters of graphene photodetector integrated with waveguide Bragg grating are designed, and the simulation is carried out according to the parameters. Simulation results show that compared with traditional waveguide detectors, the optical absorption of the device is improved by one order of magnitude, and has certain wide-band corresponding characteristics, which greatly improves the optical absorption efficiency of graphene. Therefore, this device will have a very wide application prospect in the field of communication.
