Biomineralization of Tooth Enamel with Toothpastes Containing Geranium strictipes Extracts
LATIN AMERICAN JOURNAL OF PHARMACY(2023)
摘要
. The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of a toothpaste containing Geranium strictipes herbs to prevent enamel demineralization and compare the applicability of polarized light microscopy (PLM) and confocal laser microscopy (CLSM). The CLSM data showed that the fluorescence area (A), total fluores-cence (TF) and average fluorescence (AF) of the positive control, ethyl acetate extract toothpaste group and n-butanol extract of G. strictipes toothpastes group were significant compared with the negative control group (p < 0.05). The fluorescence area(A) of the demineralized group, medicine-free toothpaste group, distilled water group, ethyl acetate extract toothpaste group and n-butanol extract toothpaste group was statistically significant compared with the positive control group (p < 0.05). The fluorescence area before demineralization, after demineralization, medicine-free toothpaste group, negative control and ethyl acetate extract toothpaste group was statistically significant compared with the positive control group (p < 0.05). The difference in the mean fluorescencebefore demineralization, after demineralization, and the negative control group was statis-tically significant compared with the positive control group (p < 0.05). G. strictipes' different extract toothpaste has obvious bioremineralization effect on enamel caries.
