Effect of FSS structures on Radiation Properties of a Monopole Antenna with Anisotropic Substrate

In this work, the effect of some Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) metasurfaces namely, partially reflecting surface structures is analyzed on the radiation pattern of a monopole antenna etched on anisotropic substrates. Several permittivity values were used in different directions depending on the considered anisotropy ratio. Good improvements in directivity and gain have been observed for small values of permittivity in some directions.
