Reliability-Aware Energy-Efficient Joint Resource Allocation for Edge Computing

Green communication is one of the key objectives of next-generation mobile communication, due to the conflict between limited network resources, large energy consumption and task latency requirements, and reliability requirements in the Industrial Internet environment. We consider that the process of device chip computing brings about temperature increase, the reliability of computing is modeled by ensuring that the temperature generated by chip computing does not exceed the tolerance temperature. In this paper, a joint optimization of task scheduling and resource allocation is performed to ensure that the energy consumption of the IoT device is minimized. Then an alternating iterative algorithm is proposed to solve the problem. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified by extensive simulations compared to other baseline schemes.
