Recent Advances in the Application of Green Solvents Derived from Natural Sources in Organic Synthesis

The use of eco-friendly solvents has been gaining more and more space in the development of organic synthesis methodologies. In this context, the increasing number of solvents derived from natural sources used for this purpose is remarkable, since they are obtained from abundant raw materials or they are byproducts of industrial processes. Thus, this review aims to present the recent advances in the application of these substances as "greener" solvents in the synthesis of organic compounds, serving as a guide for the development of new environmentally appropriate synthetic methodologies.
