•A novel cogeneration (power and hydrogen) system based on solid oxide fuel cell system is analyzed.•An integration of Flame-assisted fuel cell with Vanadium-Chlorine cycle is evaluated from thermodynamics and economic viewpoints.•Fuel-rich combustion chamber is replaced with fuel reformers in order to produce required syngas for SOFC.•Three multi-objective optimizations are accomplished to obtain the best operational condition.•Exergy efficiency of the system could be up to 73 %, where the emission index reached 0.05 kg/kWh.
