摘要

•A flow cytometry (FCM)-based competitive assay was developed.•Biotin was detected by FCM using the fluorescein-biotin and streptavidin-display spores.•Limit of detection was determined to be 5 × 10-17 mole for 1min of response time.•The developed FCM-based assay is more efficient than ELISA.
