摘要
•Crevasse splay development in a dryland river was modelled by process-based Delft3D.•Generic simulations systematically varied discharge and floodplain water level.•Discharge increases lead to more rapid splay sedimentation and stabilization.•Floodplain water level increases lead to shorter splays and backflow as stage falls.•Findings improve knowledge of dryland channel-floodplain dynamics during floods.
