Quality Assessment Method for Image Inpainting

A comprehensive study of types of quality assessment methods used for inpainted images is presented in this paper. Both quantitative and qualitative measures are studied in detail. The process of inpainting can be compared to blind convolution problem. Therefore, a quality assessment metric with no reference is discussed for assessing the inpainted image quality quantitatively. The objective assessment of inpainted image is done by Degree of Noticeability and Average Squared Visual Salience score. It is observed that the objective score does not always match with the human perception and hence subjective analysis is proposed on the basis of observer score.
