Detection and Simulation of Partial Discharge with Different Electrode Spacing Based on Crystal Fluorescent Fiber

Based on YAG:Ce crystal fluorescent fiber, the optical property of partial discharge (PD) with sphere-sphere electrode is studied. The two-dimensional distribution of electron density between electrodes is simulated using COMSOL. Electron cloud is concentrated at the center of the symmetry axis and then gradually deviates from cathode. The experimental results show that the sensing signal intensity increases first and then decreases with the increment of electrode spacing. The optical signals of PD with different electrode spacing can be identified by fluorescent fiber sensing.
