Development of High Stress and Large Capacity Conductor for Large Crossing Transmission Lines

As the key of large crossing project, the technical characteristics of conductor directly affect the height of tower and operating tension, which determines the investment of the whole project. Combined with the actual project, a new type of conductor with high stress and large capacity for large crossing transmission lines is developed, which can increase average operating tension of the conductor by more than 5% and the capacity by more than 20%. Through design and calculation, the electrical and mechanical characteristics of the conductor are compared and the economy of various conductors is analyzed by using the annual fee method. The high stress and large capacity conductor meets the engineering mechanical and electrical properties, It is applied to large crossing transmission lines and has good economic benefits.
