•Well-structured RGO-LDH nanohybrid fillers are applied in the photothermal coating firstly.•The physical properties of the WPU nanocomposite coating increase visibly.•The coated fabric exhibits excellent anti-UV property and photothermal conversion performance.•Various durability tests demonstrates the remarkable photothermal stability properties of the coated fabric.
