•The fatigue crack propagation rate in weld zone is the fastest compared with other areas of welded joint.•With the increase of stress ratio, the fatigue crack propagation rate increases.•Compared with grain boundary strengthening, precipitation strengthening is more important for fatigue crack propagation.
