C-Sr-Pb isotope systematics of the carbonate sequences of Kaladgi Supergroup, India: Implications for basin evolution and correlation with Proterozoic global events

•δ13C temporal changes in Kaladgi Basin are similar to coeval global variations.•The topmost limestone formation of Badami Group is dated to 604 ± 25 Ma.•A depositional hiatus of >500 m.y. exists between Bagalkot and Badami Groups.•Depositions in Proterozoic basins of India continued at least until ∼ 600 Ma.
