摘要

•Incorporation of Magnesium-doped Zinc Oxide (MZO) HRT layer in CdTe solar cells.•Optimal carrier concentration and thickness for the proposed HRT materials are determined to be ≥1016 cm−3 and 150 nm, respectively.•Performance improvement is observed for ITO/MZO/CdS/CdTe structure with an efficiency of 20.27%.
