535. Deep Brain Stimulation Improves Reaction Times in an Assay of Cognitive Flexibility Through a Confluence of Features
Biological Psychiatry(2023)
摘要
Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is a promising therapy for treatment-resistant psychiatric disorders. However, the mechanism of action for psychiatric DBS remains unclear. Recent work in humans and rodents suggests that DBS may enhance cognitive flexibility. Traditionally, cognitive flexibility is measured via reaction times on relevant behavioral tasks. However, reaction times may vary through a confluence of mechanisms including but not limited to cognitive flexibility. To characterize the basis of stimulation’s effect on reaction times, we assessed the relationship between reaction times, stimulation, and a variety of relevant behavioral features.
