摘要
PTSD can be chronic, debilitating and is commonly comorbid with other conditions such as depression, anxiety, or alcoholism. However, current treatments for PTSD are effective in only a subset of the patients. To support the development of effective therapeutics for PTSD, we need better insights into its biological mechanisms. GWAS of PTSD have identified many risk loci; however, how these loci confer risk remains unclear. Here, we sought to uncover genes that alter brain protein expression to predispose to PTSD. Furthermore, we aimed to determine whether these genes predispose to PTSD only or to other psychiatric conditions as well given the observed comorbidity.
