356. An fMRI Investigation of Brain Circuitry Involved in Emotional Processing and Scrupulosity

There are several different subtypes of OCD, like moral OCD (or scrupulosity) whose underlying brain circuitry may deviate from OCD more generally. A meta-analysis of OCD fMRI studies on emotional processing have detected hyperactivity in several cortical and subcortical regions. We investigated whether scrupulosity’s neural circuitry aligns with previously identified regions implicated in OCD’s neural circuitry.
