摘要
Mucormycosis occurs in 0.4% to 16% of the recipients for solid organs transplantation and has a fatal outcome in 38% to 48% of cases. We experienced two cases of mucormycosis that occurred within 15 days after LT, without evidence of fungal transmission from donor's graft. Both patients died within 10 days after the diagnosis of mucormycosis. From 2000 to 2023, 35 reports including 54 patients were identified in the literature. The median time for mucormycosis diagnosis was 12 days. Two third of patients underwent surgical debridement with a mortality rate of 31%, the other 33% of patients underwent nonoperative management with a mortality rate of 43%. Mucormycosis is a disastrous complication after LT with high mortality rate whether operative or nonoperative management is chosen for the treatment of this infection.
