Application of CeTiOx-MOFs catalysts for synergistic removal of toluene and NOx

For the synergistic catalysis of toluene and NOx, CeTiOx catalysts with metal organic frameworks as sacrificial templates, were synthesized using a hydrothermal method. The activity results show that use of the Ce1TiOx catalyst affords a synergistic catalytic efficiency of more than 75% between 250 and 400 degrees C. Characterizations confirmed that the Ce1TiOx catalyst balanced the catalytic reduction reaction by reducing the concentration of Ce3+ and increasing the Lewis acid content, resulting in, an excellent synergistic catalytic activity. The mech-anistic study revealed that NH3 and toluene exhibited competitive adsorption and competed with toluene in-termediates for reactive oxygen species, inhibiting the synergistic catalytic reaction.
