Applied Cognitive Science in Israel: From Research to Operational Manuals

In the current article, we discuss the application of cognitive science in Israeli law enforcement agencies. Applying cognitive-based techniques requires adjustment to the operational realities. Therefore, we used the Theory-Protocol-Procedure paradigm, which specifies the framework for the required adjustments to specific challenges, state and institutional regulations, target populations, and conditions (e.g., time, human resources, and adequate expertise). Specifically, we followed the path of evidence-based techniques for collecting information, detecting memory, and assessing credibility, from research to operational manuals in Israel.
