Window-type and AR Glass-type Transparent Antenna Systems for B5G/6G.

In beyond 5G (B5G) and 6G, due to the paradigm shift to mmWave, transparent antennas are emerging as a way to install many base stations and access points without compromising aesthetics. In line with these requirements, in this paper, we fabricate high-conductivity and high-optical transmission antennas and use them to propose two transparent antenna scenarios for B5G/6G. We introduce in-building network systems using a transparent window-type antenna and a mmWave augmented reality (AR) system using a glass-type antenna as use cases. These use cases are evaluated via software-defined-radio (SDR) implementation, system-level and link-level simulations, respectively, to show the possibility of future use of transparent antenna in B5G/6G.
