The latest Internet of Things (IoT) devices allow performing complex processing distributedly according to the performance improvement of devices. Information flow is a new concept of distributed processing to handle information as flow. As the distributed processing, edge devices should prepare sensing platforms for application services. Especially, abstraction of sensor types and media types is essential to realize compatible functions for application service because each device has different sensor and camera devices. This paper proposes an edge device framework to abstract sensor and camera devices for compatible functions. Since the framework provides information defined by the abstract meaning of sensor and camera devices, any application can obtain the designated information based on the meaning of information. The evaluation results show that the prototype implementation realizes the abstract data acquisition from sensor devices and a camera device.
